Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) 2023-2024
 
On behalf of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Division of Special Education, Psychological Services/Educationally Related Intensive Counseling Services (ERICS), we invite you to participate in Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) virtual workshops. The purpose of PCT is to offer you information on child development, to enhance your knowledge and understanding of your child’s learning and social emotional needs, and to assist you in acquiring skills to support the implementation of your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). PCT workshops are free of cost, and we invite you to participate virtually. We acknowledge your commitment to your child’s success in school and look forward to assisting you in this process. To maximize your experience, we encourage you to attend as many virtual workshops as possible. PCT Workshop Topics: • Parenting strategies using research on children’s brain development • Social and emotional well-being using research based practices • Listening and responding to your child with guidance and positive discipline • Building a relationship between home and school Attached, you will find the PCT schedule, which includes dates, times, and the English Zoom link. This PCT informational packet is also available online via the LAUSD Parent Portal. You can register for this online platform at https://parentportalapp.lausd.net/parentaccess/. If you require assistance with accessing the Parent Portal, please contact a staff member in the main office of your child’s school.
